Solreven Collies

Therese & Lars

The people behind the name, Solreven Collies, is Therese and Lars. We live in a small town in Norway, named Horten, about 1,5 houors south of the capital Oslo. At home we have the rough collies: Marissa, Ronja & Colin. And smooth collies, Queen, Saga and Pepper. We also own dogs that do not live with us, but in fantastic co owners.

We got approved kennel name "Solreven" in January 2007, so we are a pretty fresh kennel. I was Therese, who brought the dog interest in this family, and now Lars also opened their eyes to this wonderful hobby. And he has been at least as keen as me, both in terms of exhibits and breeding. So I thought that's fun.
We participate in a number of exhibitions each year, and thought it is hilarious. Good results or not, it is a wonderful hobby that will help us further in our breeding - work.

About our dogs are doing well, this is just a big bonus. I have read many books relating to breeding and interests me a lot for this. Here in our home, live dogs inside the house, and is part of the family. Has access to most rooms and is considered a full member of this family. Breeding, it is important for us to breed, breed collies, with a beautiful expression, nice eyes, good anatomy, beautiful coat, good mentality, not to mention a breed type head. The kennel's first litter was born January 9th, 2008.

Puppies that are born with us, grows up in, living in the bedroom for the first 3 weeks, before being moved out of the house, where they experience all the sounds, other dogs, people and everything a little puppy needs to know of before they move to new home. We place great emphasis on socialization, the puppies here are on road trips, city tours and such before they go to their new home. I think as early socialization is very important to how the puppy is going to develop further.
